December Highlights

December was a great month filled with events involving family and friends. SMS and I went down to San Diego twice. In the beginning of the month, we went down for his parents’ 50th wedding anniversary! We had a family dinner, which was really a lot of fun and it was great to celebrate such a wonderful couple.

Stacy cooked the dinner, which was excellent. She also made a fancy charcuterie board with a salami flower!

We went down later in the month for his sister and brother-in-law’s annual Christmas party, featuring good company and taco truck catering. Yum!

The next day, we went to a winery in Ramona that was really nice. The wines were good and there was a lot of space. Makes sense since it is on a former golf course.

In terms of party, I got invited as a “holi-date” by my friend to her office party. Which meant I got to enter the Apple building! It was beautifully designed and the party was wonderful. We ate good food, performed some karaoke (yes!), danced, and just had a really nice time with her and some officemates.

We also went to a party at friends who have a really big party every year. They style it as a sort of open-house where people come and go. There are a lot of attendees, many from the business or Stanford worlds so it’s a different perspective than my normal day-to-day.

We went to a Guild concert and saw Molly Tuttle, who was excellent along with her band. I really like the venue and I’m happy we’ve taken advantage of being here this past year.

Christmas was pretty quiet. SMS and I went on a hike in Coal Mine Ridge nature preserve, which is in Portola Valley. It’s next to Windy Hill but nowhere near as high so it’s a much more mellow hike. We will definitely be back!

  1. What a busy and wonderful December you had! It looks like a lot of fun. We had a fairly busy December as well, and I’m thankful that things have calmed down now.
