About

Hello!  I’ve kept this blog for several years with a particular focus on my travels and trips. It’s really kept me from feeling like my brain is made of Swiss cheese because I can’t remember things.  I use my maiden-middle-name as my “first name” on the blog because I try to keep Google-y patients away from my personal life.  Maybe I think strangers care a lot more about me than they do but better safe than sorry!

I started this blog when I was stationed in Japan between my internship and residency in the Navy. Then I spent five years in San Diego completing my residency. This is what is known as a hardship assignment, haha. Next, I moved to Japan for two years as a newlywed! After that, I lived in Silicon Valley for a one year fellowship.

I was unexpectedly (to me, anyway) assigned to a hospital in Virginia for three years followed by a return to San Diego for another three years. Then, I separated from the Navy and moved to the Bay Area. I work in an academic civilian position and I love it! Exciting, new, and a bit of an adjustment but in the best way possible!

Hobby-wise, I enjoy reading modern/literary fiction.   I’ve run a lot in the past, but not as much anymore. I’m very into Peloton offerings and really enjoy the platform for cardio, weights, and yoga. I like cooking and throwing dinner parties that are low-stress and mostly make-ahead. I haven’t thrown any recently, but I have plans to invite people over to our apartment’s BBQ/pool area so that part of my life will revive!

Feel free to comment or email- I’ll make you a gold card fan club member (I am so funny).
