April Wrap-Up

After my birthday, I got lazy about posting. So, time for some half-hearted catch-ups!

We went on a Native Plants tour. Several sites were marked on a choose-your-own-adventure map. Many people went to a very nice home in Portola Valley. I tried to keep my eyes on the gardens and not be too much of a looky-loo but their house did have a lot of windows. The windows were particularly easy to look through when I walked up, pressed my face to the glass, and cupped my hands around my eyes. Jk, jk. But things I did see: their beautiful living room. And noteably, their hobby room had a loom. A LOOM! And I thought my COVID-era hobbies were ridiculous.

Inspired by our Portola Valley garden tour, SMS and I decided to tour a nearby home that was more in our price range. Here’s a peek into the kitchen. So, yes, we’re really looking at the high-end homes.

Fancy meals include an alumni dinner in downtown San Francisco. I took a surreptitious picture (left) since it was a private social club and I wasn’t sure photos were allowed. SMS and I went to a new Greek place in Stanford Mall, which was really delicious. The appetizer sampler was delicious (right).

SMS and I met up with our friends at Rodeo Beach for a mellow hike. We had beautiful ocean views and walked around an old WWII coastal defense battery. It’s in a larger Highlands park north of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s really beautiful.

Finally, SMS and I had a nice poolside lunch at our apartment complex. We’re a big fan of the avocado-lettuce-tomato sandwich with sprouts. I’m always a little nervous about sprouts since I’ve read pretty gross stories about bacteria transmission through sprouts but so far, so good.
