Weekend Wrap-Up

I am having design issues with my titles. Do I start with a capitalized letter and then have the remainder lower case or do I capitalize all the words in the title except for articles? There’s probably the cool way and the way I do it, but I really don’t have the design wherewithall to be consistent.

So, this weekend was quite nice. On Friday, SMS and I headed out for pho in Palo Alto. Reminder to ourselves: we should really take the train! Traffic is a little heavy and parking is difficult, while the train is so easy. The pho was delicious. We went to Pho Hanoi, which has several locations in the Bay Area. There was a 25-30 minute wait, but the food comes out so quickly that we felt it all evened out (vs going somewhere else).

I am wearing an Amherst rugby jersey because I am a winner and won this in a match where we bet our jerseys

On Saturday, I went on my “long” run, which is currently four miles. Based on my Saturday plans, I wasn’t sure how I would feel Sunday. After my run, I went to the Dutch Goose to watch the Williams-Amherst football game. But first, I went to Luttickens where I hung out with two friends from the building and two friends of theirs whom they met last year when they were in search of a place that would serve beer before 11 a.m. So, as you can imagine, we all got along splendidly. Once 11:00 hit, we headed down the block to the Goose.

After the football game was over (14-13, Amherst, boo), I rode my bike back home. Later that afternoon, a larger group of us got together for a small party to celebrate the end of Hayley’s maternity leave. Her husband cooked a prime rib roast, which was exquisitely delicious. They also made great sides: green beans, kale salad, and mashed potatoes. It was a phenomenal dinner. We had so much fun. Also, we shared a jeroboam of Chimney Rock, where the bottle has the volume equivalent of four normal wine bottles.

Today, I went to pilates with friends, grabbed lunch with one afterwards, and then had an errand-y afternoon. I felt great! SMS and I had a nice walk on a beautiful afternoon. For dinner, it was leftovers, which was eclectic but tasty.

I also worked a bit on my Destinations map. Click the header tab above to check it out or click here. All my French posts are linked but a few items remain: 1. If I use the same latitude/longitude (eg Paris), only one post shows up 2. I would like the countries that I’ve been to (aka, have blog posts) to be a different color and 3. as a someday thing, I would love to create itineraries/routes in the map to show specific trips.

  1. Sounds like a really lovely weekend (with lots of social plans).

Re: the post titles, I solve that dilemma by using “all caps” for the titles LOL
