I bought tickets to see my siblings and their families for about a day and a half right before Christmas. It’s a little insane, but we’re rarely all together so it’s worth it. I’m taking a red eye and because it’s so quick, SMS is going to stay back which is a bit of a bummer. But I get it. And I’ll be back for Christmas!
There are a lot of sales. But I have a skeptical eye because prices are so much higher now than a few years ago. SMS says he doesn’t understand how inflation is 3% because everything is seemingly so much more expensive. I’ve noticed it in a few brands I’ve followed over the years. Well, one in particular. Boden has really increased in price and I am not here for it!
I discovered my local wine store has a delivery. So I stocked up on some French wines back in October. Some were good, some were meh. I thought it was good since I’ve done it once and that wine will probably last me through Christmas.
I would turn into such a perma-PJs and robe lady with a lit cigarette (I don’t smoke) and curlers in my hair if my local wine shop delivered. A real cautionary tale, if you will (lol).
I suspect you will be popular at your holiday gatherings! It will be a different visit without SMS, but I find that I like both kinds. I like the visits where it’s just me visiting my family, and the ones when I bring my husband and daughter with me. Just different.
Yes, very true about the types of trips. And we are used to doing things apart and together. But it’s been awhile since all the siblings have been together and it would be super cool to have sibs and spouses. Guess it means we just need to get together again, hopefully soon!
