February Wrap-Up

Feeling meh on the blogging lately, which equals no posts. But I do like having the monthly wrap-ups at minimum so here we go for February:

Weekend 1: Parents’ Visit

My parents visited on their way to Hawaii; retired life for the win! It was so great to see them. They stayed in the apartment building but in a short-term rental, which was a really awesome set-up. I liked their apartment living room more than mine although it was probably due to the more minimal furnishings and less cluttered feel- like a staged house. We went to Thomas Fogarty winery which was nice. The road getting there was a little twisty but we had a great time once we were there.

Until the end. Because my Mom does not like slow walkers. Guess what my Dad and I were doing, bwah ha ha. So, I photodocumented. Note the hand on hip. This is who I get my patience from, lol.

In all seriousness, it was a gorgeous day and we had a great table out on the patio. For dinner, SMS made a pasta dinner using the KitchenAid pasta attachment we got from my parents for Christmas. We made chicken piccata with noodles and it was excellent!

The next day, we went to the Super Bowl party thrown by the complex. Mom got us great seats and it was so nice to hang out. It was a low-scoring, somewhat boring game but I thought Bad Bunny was amazing during the halftime show.

Weekend 2: Valentine’s Day/Home

Earlier that week, I went to Clark’s with some friends from book club to take advantage of half-price Wine Wednesdays in celebration of Galentine’s Day. We’re a real thrifty bunch. I learned that the way to take group selfies Gen Z style is with the back phone at 0.5 magnification. It turned out ok- better in bright light!

I didn’t take any great pictures from Valentine’s Day, but SMS got me flowers and we had a nice dinner in. The rose above is the most perfect rose that I picked out separately from the larger bouquet.

Meme of the Month: Chinese New Year

Weekend 3: Girls Trip to Napa

Pool at Sunrise

We had so!much!fun! We rented one of the houses at Indian Springs, Calistoga and had the absolute best time. I went into the pools every day. We went wine tasting and had great food. We didn’t take a ton of pictures because no one really posted to social media since there may have been a few people who may have felt snubbed. Maybe we were overthinking, but I think we wanted to be sensitive to people’s feelings.

Anyway, I may flesh this out more in a separate post but with the rate I’ve been blogging, probably not. But, here was our itinerary:

Friday: Snack buying at Trader Joe’s/Lunch at Mustard’s (1100)/Nickel & Nickel (1230)/Hall (230)/Sam’s Social Club (630)

Saturday: Chandon (1215)/Bistro Jeanette (200)/Stewart (330 with our manifesting positive angel Harmony as the coolest host ever)/Sushi Mambo takeout

Sunday: Yoga (very stretchy session)/Oxbow Market/Tasting of Michel Fuch champagne @ Walt

Weekend 4: Sonoma with SMS

SMS and I went to Sonoma for the weekend. I had booked a pretty epic deal on Black Friday and even though it turned into a lot of wine country in one month, it was a really nice weekend away. On Saturday, we went to Medlock Ames, which was great.

Completely unremorseful

For dinner, we went to Bistro Lagniappe, which was excellent. We also got a nice deal because it was Restaurant Week. SMS was mean to me and told me that my sweater looked like something Hermione Granger would wear. Rude. Also wrong. It is very stylish, says everyone but him.

On Sunday, we went for a hike but since that was 1 March, you will have to wait!
