May is a busy travel month for me. So much so, that it’s almost stressful but it’s not since it means I’m getting to do so many wonderful things! The first weekend of the month, SMS and I headed out to Minneapolis, MN where my sister’s children were getting baptized en masse. Then, to add to the weekend, one of my brothers decided to get his two sons baptized. So, five of the seven grandkids got baptized in one fell swoop. Hooray! (And for those who are worried, the other two were baptized several years ago.)

I had reserved an AirBnB about 0.5 mile from my sister’s house. Her family lives in a very residential area so there are no nearby hotels. The AirBnB was absolutely perfect. My parents, my other brother’s family, and SMS & I stayed there. It was great. One night, we had easy pizza dinner and local beer from Venn brewing. Another night, Brady hosted everyone at her house. There was a lot of family time and it was a spectacular, heart-filling weekend.

The baptism was efficient, and thank goodness. Kids do not have a lot of stamina for that sort of thing. It went reasonably well, apart from one nephew who completely melted down for most of the ceremony. Well, that’s a two year old around lunch and nap time for you! Finally, one of his aunts figured out that a long YouTube clip of trains going by would enrapture him so hooray for aunties! Just not me, since I was unable to get him to stop crying. In fairness to me, my brother told me to put on Bluey which apparently, is so last month in that kid’s world.

SMS and I stayed the latest of visiting family, through Monday afternoon. We took my littlest niece on a long walk around Lakes Hiawatha and Nokomis. It was great- she enjoyed the ride and is super-engaged with the world around her. Heart!
